About Us
THE SELDEN CENTEREACH YOUTH ASSOCIATION  is now in our 44th year of inclusive service meeting the growing needs of the
Children and Families of our community.
NO ONE IS TURNED AWAY.

The Selden Centereach Youth Association was founded in 1972 by concerned parents of children in the Middle Country Central School District, serving families residing in Coram, Selden, Port Jefferson, Centereach, Lake Grove and parts of Farmingville and Ronkonkoma.

During it's early years, the "youth center" primarily served as a safe, supervised recreation facility. Through the years,  the "youth center" has evolved its prevention services to include Individual youth & family counseling, Safe Saturday Programs for children in grades K-5, a 5 day a week food pantry, and a fully accredited day camp. We also have a NYS Licensed School Aged Child Care Program in all 10 Elementary Schools within the MCCSD. Our School Aged Child Care Program is inspected and monitored by the Child Care Council of Suffolk.

The Selden Centereach Youth Association has established strong collaborations working with the Middle Country Public Library, Middle Country Teacher's Association, Suffolk County and Brookhaven Town Youth Bureaus, Girl Scouts, Home Depot, Office of Housing and Human Services, NYS Office of Children and Family Services, Department of Social Services, Coram, Selden and Centereach Fire Departments, Jefferson's Ferry, and many more to numerous to list.
